Salona — reconstructions on site
Salona was the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. Today the site shows foundations and the remains of walls, and it is hard to imagine the whole.
Among the archaeological remains, it is hard for visitors to picture what the amphitheatre or the early Christian complexes looked like, and information panels cannot show the space at full scale.
QR codes are placed across the site. Visitors scan a code and see a 3D reconstruction on their phone from exactly where they stand, look in every direction and open info points with texts by the museum's curators.
See how it looks on site.
This is how it looks on the visitor’s phone.
